Capture one

Although DJI make great products that change the way we capture video and photographs, the one thing I dislike about them is their DJI Go App. It is that its very cluttered and has many items hidden away. And DJI fail to produce in-depth videos on how to do advanced things in the app, they just have very introductory tutorials.

Since the version 2.3.0 (or maybe one before) they moved the already hard to find multiple shots, bracketed shots, HDR and Timed shots. However, when you update the app you are just greeted with the new app and maybe a notice if new firmware is available. They neglect to mention where the options have moved to.

Prior to version 2.3.0 this extended menu was available by pressing and holding the shutter button (the circle button on right hand side) in Camera mode.

Now this option is available under the MENU button located above the mode selector mode (between camera and video). This menu then drills into sub-menus that let you select the mode of your camera.

After I updated my DJI Phantom 3 to firmware 1.4.0010 last weekend and updated the DJI Go App, I went to the coast to fly my Phantom 3 and capture some aerial footage but couldn’t figure out how to get to Bracketing mode. Of course with your drone in the air and 20 odd minutes of flight time you don’t really want to waste it looking through the menus. So no bracketed images were captured.

Later on when I got back home, I googled around but couldn’t find anything as to why I didn’t have this option. I deleted and re-installed the app but still nothing. After much trial and error I found out where this option was (under the Menu button) and hence decided to do this post so that it can help others if they are struggling to find these options.
